Mocs Travel to Campbell & Davidson

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team hits the road this weekend for matches at Campbell and Davidson.  Saturday’s dual with the Camels pits the top two teams in the Southern Conference against each other, followed by Sunday’s match with the Wildcats.

Action begins against Campbell at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, in Buies Creek, N.C.  The Mocs then travel to Sunday’s match in Davidson, N.C., at 1:00 p.m. against the Wildcats.

Chattanooga is sporting a No. 19 ranking in this week’s USA Today/NWCA/AWN Coaches Poll with a 13-5 overall record.  Both Campbell and UTC are undefeated in SoCon action with identical 4-0 league marks.  Chattanooga’s 13 wins are the most for the program since going 16-1 in 2007.

Campbell is 4-1 overall and coming off a 39-9 win over Davidson on Feb. 1.  The Wildcats are 4-11 and 0-4 in SoCon matches.  Davidson takes on West Virginia on Friday before hosting the Mocs.

Links for live stats and live video for both matches are available on the wrestling schedule page on GoMocs.com.  The video stream for the Campbell match is free, while the Davidson fee is $5.95.  Fans can also follow the team on Twitter @UTCWrestling for live updates.

• 184 could be an interesting matchup.  Davidson’s Scott Patrick is 17-3 overall and 2-1 in SoCon matches while the Mocs John Lampe is 14-8 and 4-0 in league bouts.  Patrick was the preseason All-SoCon selection at this weight.
