2008 SoCon Championship Brackets

The 2008 Southern Conference Wrestling Championships will take place at the McKenzie Arena on the UTC campus March 8.

Tickets -- Prices for All-Tournament tickets are:

Adults $15.00

Children ages two to college age $10.00

Doors open at 10 a.m. First round begins at 11:00 a.m.

Fans can also purchase tickets on the telephone by calling the Arena box office at 423-266-6627 or by stopping by the box office between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

SoCon Championship Participants -- Participating teams include Appalachian State, Chattanooga, The Citadel, Davidson, UNC Greensboro and VMI.

1:00 p.m. Semifinals

3:30 p.m. Semifinals Consolations

5:00 p.m. Consolation Finals

7:00 p.m. Championship Finals

NCAA Championship Qualification -- Winners of each weight class receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships. The Southern Conference will also select five wildcard entrants to the NCAAs for a total of 15 wrestlers representing the Conference. The NCAA Wrestling Championships will take place March 20-22 in St. Louis.

Web Streaming -- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, in conjunction with the Southern Conference and Jump TV, will offer live audio/video Internet streams of the Championship Finals. The broadcast will be available on a subscription basis and can be accessed by visiting UTC's official athletics website, GoMocs.com or that of the Southern Conference at www.SoConSports.com. Current Chattanooga All-Access subscribers will receive the webcast as part of their existing subscription.

Concessions -- Food and beverage concessions will be available at all McKenzie Arena concession locations.

Media Credentials -- All media credential requests should be submitted to Chattanooga Assistant Athletics Director Jeff Romero. Submission via email is acceptable at Jeff-Romero@utc.edu. He can be reached by telephone at 423-425-5292.

Parking -- Public parking for the event is available in several lots near the arena. Republic Parking will charge $5.00 per car to park per entry. Tournament officials and media will receive Arena parking passes which can be obtained by calling 423-425-5292.

Programs -- Southern Conference Championship fan guides will be available to fans upon entrance to the Arena. Blank bracket sheets with names of first-round matchups in each weight class will also be available.

The McKenzie Arena -- The McKenzie Arena seats 11,218 for basketball and will be configured similarly for the SoCon Wrestling Championships. The Arena, opened in December of 1982, is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2007-08.

From Birmingham
Take I-59 North to I-24 East to US 27 North (Downtown Chattanooga). Exit at 4th Street (Exit 1C.) Stay on 4th Street. Turn right on Mabel Street.

From Knoxville
