McCroskey, a native of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., adds to his long list of academic and athletic accolades. A former Southern Conference Champion, he is a three-time NCAA qualifier and a two-time Academic All-NWCA honoree. He is also a two-time Academic All-SoCon team member.
McCroskey recently graduated cum laude in Mechanical Engineering, holding a 3.63 grade-point-average throughout his collegiate career. He still has one year of eligibility remaining, but the fourth-year junior called it a career following the 2011 season.
On the mat, McCroskey led the team with a 23-11 record and was ranked in the top-20 at 184 pounds in 2011. He is the only Moc who went to each of the last two NCAAs and finished his career with a 61-37 record.
The CoSIDA Capital One Academic At-Large Team is made up of nominations from a number of NCAA sports, including Bowling, Crew, Fencing, Field Hockey, Golf, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Rifle, Skiing, Swimming, Tennis, Men's Volleyball, Water Polo and Wrestling. Nominees must have a 3.3 cumulative g.p.a. and be in their second year of competition at their current institution.
