JORDAN BRITT PLAYS UNITED STATES WOMEN’S AMATEUR
Senior Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) became the first current Chattanooga Mocs women’s golfer to compete at the United States Women’s Amateur earlier this week. This year’s championship is at the Country Club of Charleston in South Carolina.

Britt shot 80-78 missing out on the top 64 who advance to match play. The par 71 tract proved to be quite a test for the field of 156. Just nine players finished under par for the 36 holes and there were only 24 sub-par rounds (7.7% of 312 total cards).

She joins former Mocs Christine Wolf (2008-11) and Emma de Groot (2008-11) as the third to qualify for the event as a UTC golfer. Wolf and de Groot made it in 2011. Sophomore Isabella Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) also qualified in 2011 prior to signing with the Mocs that fall.

KRYGER FINISHES SECOND IN DENMARK
Junior Mette Kryger (Nivaa, Denmark) was runner-up at the Solvogn Poklaen in Denmark. The two-day, 54-hole event was played July 27-28 at Odsherred Golfklub in Hojby.

Kryger was in fourth after 36 holes on the first day with rounds of 75 and 78. She fired the low round of the tournament with a level-par 71 on Sunday falling just two shots out of the lead.

FORMER MOCS UPDATE
Wolf is coming off a tie for 10th at the Ingaro Ladies Open on the Ladies European Tour (LET) Access Series. She carded scores of 73, 68 and 72 for a three-over par 213. currently No. 23 on the LET Access Series Order of Merit. Her next event is this weekend, August 9-11 at the HLR Academy Open at Hillside Golf Club in Vihti, Finland. LEADERBOARD

de Groot is at the IOA Golf Classic on the Island Course at Innisbrook Golf Resort in Palm Harbor , Fla., on the Symetra Tour this weekend. LIVE SCORING

FINAL SUMMER UPDATE
The golf summer update series ends next week for the men and on Thursday, August 22 for the ladies. The final installment includes schedule release with an outlook on the upcoming season. All six Mocs return from last year’s Southern Conference Championship squad.
