SPARTANBURG, S.C. Chattanooga freshman Emma de Groot has been named Southern Conference women’s golfer of the week for April 2.

 

de Groot claimed her second career tournament victory this week when she topped the field at the Larry Nelson Collegiate Invitational hosted by Kennesaw State. A native of Coffs Harbour, Australia, de Groot totaled 222 over three rounds while also helping the Lady Mocs claim the team title in the event. In the most recent rankings by Golfstat.com, de Groot is rated as the 29th-best golfer in the country.

 

Other top golfers this week included College of Charleston’s Steffi Kirchmayr, Elon’s Danielle Mills and Furman’s Jaclyn Hilea.
