MARSEILLE, France --- Chattanooga women's golfer Marion Duvernay (Publier, France) started her summer off right with a win at the Yves Caillol Cup at Golf Club d'Aix Marseille in Marseille, France May 20-22. She shot three-over par 219 to top Amelie Fourel by two shots.
A rising sophomore, Duvernay trailed by six shots to Fourel heading into Sunday's final round. She was five over par through 36 holes before mounting her Sunday charge. Duvernay turned in a card of two under, 70, to claim win by two over Fourel and four over third-place finisher Camille Chevalier.
Duverney joined the Chattanooga women's golf team in January and immediately made her mark. She earned Southern Conference All-Freshman team honors and helped lead the team to a 30-stroke win at the SoCon Championship.
