Kayla had a great summer qualifying for the U.S. Women's Amateur while finishing in the top eight of the Tennessee Women's Amateur and top 15 at the Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's Open...finished second in her flight in a men's event at the Michelob Ultra City Amateur in Cookeville, Tenn.


Played in four events as a team counter and two as an individual... recorded a sixth-place finish at the Chris Banister Classic... tied for second amidst the snow, sleet, hail and wind at Lady Mocs Intercollegiate shooting 79 (+7)...nine of 12 team rounds were counters.


Competed in the 2008 Tennessee State Amateur missing the championship flight in a playoff but won the first flight.  Stewart competed in the 2008 Tennessee State Open shooting 78-76-78 finishing 20th out of 102, sixth among the event's amateurs.


Kayla recorded two top 10 finishes coming in ninth in her first action for the Lady Mocs at the 2007 Chris Banister finish was tied for sixth at the Great Smokies Women's Collegiate shooting three-over par, 147, for 36 holes...all 31 rounds counted to team score.

MEMPHIS (2005 Fall)

One of two freshman to compete in all four Fall events...finished second on the team and tied for 34th overall in her first collegiate tournament at the Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate...shot a three-round low 80-77-78--235 in the tournament hosted by Alabama...shot a Fall-low three-over par 75 in the second round of the Wildcat Fall Invitational tying for 47th in the tournament...scoring average of 79.8.


Finished second individually in the 2002 AAA Tennessee State High School Championship...helped the Cavaliers to the 2000 state runner-up after winning District and Region titles...2003 District and Region team titles as well...claimed seventh place at the PGA Junior Series at Clemson, where she shot 76-74 in the summer of 2004...prepped at Cookeville High School...finished third at the Hudson Junior (77-78-81) and second at the Tennessee Junior Amateur (77-71-74)...named to the Ruth Eller Cup team where she represented the state of Tennessee...also played basketball at CHS earning First Team All-District.


Born March 24, 1987 in Cookeville, Tenn....the daughter of Harry Stewart and Yvonne Howard...has two sisters, Deletta Howard and Jennifer Stacy...earned her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice in August 2009.
