CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Chattanooga Mocs women's golf coach Colette Murray announced the signing of a familiar name today. Isabella Loza, sister of current UTC standout Maria Juliana Loza, returned her National Letter of Intent ensuring the family's presence at the school.
"I love this family," Murray said. "They are a delight and to add a player of Isabella's ability means even more. She has played many high-level tournaments and will push to be in the lineup immediately. She has won here on the AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) Tour and qualified for the 2011 U.S. women's Amateur."
Loza won the 2011 AJGA Preseason Junior at the Bridges Golf Club in April 2011. She overcame a one-stroke deficit to win by three with a final round 74 (+1). She was one of six to qualify for the U.S. Women's Amateur shooting a 75 at Walnut Grove Country Club in Dayton, Ohio this past July.
Isabella won the 2011 Colombian National Championship by one stroke in her native Bucaramanga, Colombia in March. She finished sixth at the 2011 Selectivo Suramericano Juvenil and the 2011 Coca Cola Junior Championship.
She led the Colombian team to the South American Youth Championship over Argentina in May. The last time the Colombians won the event was in 2008.
