Phillip D. Glass Dons White Mocs Helmet

With the start of the 2013 college football season just around the corner, the buzz is building about the Mocs' season opener against UT Martin on Thursday, Aug. 29.  Tried & True Blue T-Shirts are hitting the stores, football training camp is in full swing and Tennessee American Water's No. 1 employee, Phillip D. Glass, got his white Mocs football helmet today.

“As a proud active community partner in Chattanooga we are excited that Phillip D. Glass will be waving the new design of Mocs helmet as a reminder to support Mocs Football and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga,” stated Deron Allen, Tennessee American Water President.

Phillip D. Glass can be seen on the north side of Amnicola Highway/Riverside Drive in Chattanooga, just east of Scrappy Moore Field.  He was given his new Mocs helmet Friday morning on top of the Tennessee American Water Company tank.

“We are excited about Tennessee American Water showing its support of the Mocs,” stated UTC Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics David Blackburn.  “We want to get our ‘Power C’ logo in front of as many people as possible, and Phillip D. Glass is a very visible landmark in Chattanooga.  We appreciate their efforts to update the white helmet and let everyone who passes by know that football is just around the corner.”

Chattanooga kicks off on Aug. 29 at 7:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) against the cross-state rival Skyhawks.  UT Martin is coming off an 8-3 record in 2012, including a second place finish in the Ohio Valley Conference.  Tickets are on sale now on GoMocs.com or by calling the UTC Ticket Office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627).
