Huesman, Tull Among Top-20 in National Coach & Defensive Player of the Year Voting

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga head coach Russ Huesman and junior defensive end Davis Tull were both finalists for the Eddie Robinson and Buck Buchanan Awards following the 2013 season.  These honors are given out by The Sports Network and voted upon by members of the media covering FCS football.

Huesman, the 2013 Southern Conference Coach of the Year, guided the Mocs to and 8-4 record and a share of their first SoCon title since 1984.  He was 17th in the voting for the Eddie Robinson Award, given to the National Coach of the Year.  North Dakota State’s Craig Bohl won the honor for the second straight season.

Tull won his second-straight SoCon Defensive Player of the Year honor this season and was 13th in the voting for the Buck Buchanan Award, given to the National Defensive Player of the Year.  Montana State defensive end Brad Daly won the honor, the second in a row for a Bobcat defender.
