Two Mocs Publications Earn National Recognition

Two publications from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics Department earned national recognition from the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) this week.  The Mocs Football Media Guide was second in the nation in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) while the Wrestling Guide earned ‘Best Cover’ honors.

Both publications are products of UTC's Athletics Communications and Media Relations Office.  They were written and edited by Dr. Jay Blackman, Associate Athletics Director for Communications & Marketing, along with Assistant Directors Anne Wehunt and Jim Horten and Assistant Tyler Brown.  Detailed editorial assistance was also provided by Pam Henry.

The Football Guide contains 148 pages on the Mocs 2013 Southern Conference Championship team and finished runner-up in the FCS category.  This is the second time in the past three seasons the UTC Football Media Guide has been second in the nation.

The cover features seniors Derrick Lott, Wes Dothard, D.J. Key, Gunner Miller, Kevin Revis and Kadeem Wise.  It was designed by Blackman and Michael Vinson and a complete version of the guide is available below.

This is the second year in a row the Mocs Wrestling Guide has been recognized on a national level.  Competing in the Winter At-Large category, it was No. 3 in the nation in 2013.

The cover features a wide shot of UTC’s sold-out Iowa match from the 2012-13 season, along with the Power C and Chattanooga Strong logos.  It was also designed by Blackman and Vinson.  A complete version of the 2014 Chattanooga Wrestling Guide is available below.

Both publications were printed locally by Starkey Printing, in conjunction with IKON, UTC's Graphic Service partner.

CoSIDA still has its spring sports publication awards to hand out for the 2013-14 season.  Certificates for the winners will be distributed at the 2014 CoSIDA Convention on June 8-11 in Orlando, Fla.
