Opening Statement Quotes:
"I thought our guys played extremely hard and they didn't back down the whole game. Nebraska has great personnel, great athletes and, you know, they make great plays. They know what they're doing here. The best part of it was for 60 minutes we went toe-to-toe. Man, our guys fought. Our kids feel like they could be a really good football team. They came off of blocks and they were able to run to the ball. For the most part, we defended the option really well."
On if he feels better about his team after today's game:
"Absolutely. When we came in, we didn't know if we could get off of blocks. Could we even stop the power play? Can we defend the belly option? And we did. For the most part, I thought we defended a lot of plays pretty well. And Martinez, how many third downs did we have, and he scrambles up the middle and gets a first down? He needs 10 yards, he gets 12. That is what good players do. We can't let that happen, but when you play good players and teams, it happens. I thought we put them in a lot of third and longs. There had to be 12 or 15. That's playing pretty good defense."
On how he feels about his team's offense today:
"Decent. We hurt ourselves. We jumped offsides and didn't snap the ball a couple of times. For the most part, we protected pretty well. We have a young offensive line and they picked up pressure a lot. I thought they battled. We didn't look awful."
On the atmosphere of today's game:
"It was a great atmosphere. I took my headset off one time because I knew it would be loud. And it was loud. I put it right back on because I realized it wasn't good that they were cheering. It was a great atmosphere. What a great place to play a college football game. The Nebraska football team is class all the way. The fans were class all the way. This was one of the best that I have ever been in. I've played against a bunch of BCS schools and this is probably the best environment, people, just the whole game. This was the best. I like these people. These people are good people."
On if he feels good about giving up 364 yards and winning the turnover battle:
"No question. We played well on defense. I knew it would be hard to move the ball. One of their guys didn't play, right? That probably helped us. I knew it would be tough. They play great defense here at Nebraska every year. Three years in a row they've been top 10 in the country on defense. A lot of people have trouble moving the ball on them."
Chattanooga Quarterback B.J. Coleman
On if he felt like he could move the football today
"I felt really good out there in terms of being able to complete the football and move the football throughout the field. I thought we did a really good job with moving the chains. Let's give credit to Nebraska's defense. They've got a great football team, especially defensively. I'm very proud of the way we fought, though. We came out and we took punch-for-punch with them coming out of the third quarter. That was really cool being able to drive down. I think it was an 80-yard drive for a touchdown. That's very impressive for us to be able to come out here and do that. I'm very impressed with both sides of the ball, though. Offensively, defensively and in special teams, I thought we did some good things."
On how well UTC's young offensive line played tonight
"Those guys are young. I think we had three brand new guys come in there and start for us. It was their very first start and it was in Memorial Stadium. So for them to come out and do what they did, I'm very proud of them. We have some things that we need to work on, obviously. The sacks and the ground game, that's on me, and I have to make sure we are ready to go for Jackson State next week. I'm very impressed with how they came out. They weren't tight, they were very loose."
Chattanooga Fullback Taharin Tyson
On what it's like to have his first carry be in an atmosphere like Memorial Stadium
"It was huge even though we played in some packed houses in high school. It was never quite like this with 84,000 people. It was a great experience."
On how he takes what he learned today into next week's game
"I think we are really hungry. We want to win. We came out here and we held our own and the defense played great. Our offense moved the ball pretty well toward the end. We are hungry; we want to win and we will work hard to get those wins."
