Mocs Add Stovall to 2013 Incoming Class

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football head coach Russ Huesman announced James Stovall is set to join the Mocs for the upcoming season.  Stovall, a former prep standout at nearby Bradley Central High School, spent last season at the Naval Academy Preparatory School.

“We are excited to have James come back to Chattanooga,” stated Huesman.  “We recruited him heavily before he went to Navy, and we are happy it worked out that he is now a Moc.”

Stovall (6-3, 190) is a two-time 6A all-state selection at receiver.  He made 47 catches for 681 yards as a senior, leading Bradley Central to their second straight appearance in the playoffs.  He was also a member of the Chattanooga Times Free Press Dynamite Dozen entering his senior year.

Stovall had 76 receptions for 1,085 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior.  He set a state playoff record in 2010 with 19 receptions for 181 yards in a playoff loss to Oak Ridge.

A standout in track and field, Stovall set numerous school and meet records in the triple jump as a senior.  He also won the 2012 TSSAA state title in the triple jump for the Bears, earning a spot on the 2012 Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps Track & Field team.
