Mocs Defensive Staff Named Game Changing Coaches of the Week by

The defensive coaching staff for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team was named this week's Game Changing Coaches by  The Mocs (4-1, 2-1 SoCon) posted a 14-7 win at Samford last weekend, improving on their best start since the 1997 season. 

UTC's defense recorded a pair of take-aways inside their own five-yard line to preserve the win.  Chattanooga also slowed Samford's preseason All-SoCon running back Chris Evans to 64 yards on the ground, his lowest output of the season.

UTC hits the road this weekend for a SoCon showdown in Statesboro, Ga., on Saturday, Oct. 17, against Georgia Southern.  Fans can listen to the game on the Mocs Sports Network on ESPN Radio 105.1 FM in Chattanooga or watch the live video stream on  Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. (E.T.).

The Mocs' next home game is Saturday, Oct. 31, against Western Carolina.  Chattanooga hosts the Catamounts at Finley Stadium at 2:00 p.m.  Tickets are available on or by calling the UTC Ticket Office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627).
