All-state receiver from Columbia Central High School in Columbia, Tenn...led Columbia to a 13-2 record...school record 1,118 receiving yards and seven TDs on 47 catches in 2009...13 wins was a school record...earned a one-star ranking from Scout.com...played for his father, Vince, at Columbia Central...guided the Lions to their first state championship appearance since 1952...three-time all-district honoree...career record holder with 104 receptions, 2,164 yards and 20 TDs...honor roll student...also ran track and played basketball in high school...100M and 200M district, region and sub-state winner as a sophomore and junior...competed at the state championships in the 4x100M relays as a junior...PERSONAL...Full name is Bryant Allen Belew...born July 7, 1990...son of Vince and Paula Belew...has one younger brother, Eric...plans to major in Sports Leisure.

Keith Mayes - DB - 5-9 - 202 - Fr-HS - Chattanooga, Tenn (Red Bank HS)      
All-state defensive back from Red Bank High School in Chattanooga, Tenn...teammate of fellow signee Keon Williams...played for head coach Tim Daniels...led the Lions to a 12-1 record and the district title last season... Red Bank went undefeated in the regular season and advanced to the quarterfinals of the state championships ...member of the Tennessean Dream Team...district special teams player of the year as a senior...also earned all-region honors...named to the Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps team...recorded 62 tackles, two interceptions and forced two fumbles last season...returned three punts, one kick-off and one fumble for a touchdown...ran track for three seasons...one-star rating from Scout.com...named to the East-West All-Star team...PERSONAL...Full name is Keith Alexander Mayes III...born Sept. 4, 1992...son of Aisha Keys...has one sister, Klalea...plans to major in Education.

"The reason we like Keith so much is because he can run.  We had him in our camp and he ran well there.  He is a 'high-motor' guy...loves football...excellent student, and a local guy who we think is going to be an excellent player.  He can play multiple positions, but I think safety will be his best fit for us."


Chaz Moore - DB - 5-10 - 160 - Memphis, Tenn. (Whitehaven HS)      
Two-star defensive back by Rivals.com and Scout.com from Whitehaven High School in Memphis, Tenn...led the Tigers to a 21-6 record the last two seasons...posted an 11-3 mark as a senior...played for head coach Rodney Saulsbury...invited to the U.S. Army National Combine following his junior season where he was the Defensive MVP...recorded nine interceptions as a senior...selected to the Autozone All-Star game...also returned kicks at Whitehaven...PERSONAL...Born Sept. 15, 1992...son of Tara Rowley...undecided on a major.

"Late in the process we were looking for a corner and Chaz is just one of those guys who just made plays.  He returned punts, played corner, played safety, played some offense...had the ball in his hand.  He is an excellent football player and we are really excited to have Chaz."


Nick Pollard - K - 6-0 - 180 - Fr-HS - Nashville, Tenn. (Father Ryan HS)    
2009 Tennessee Mr. Football Kicker of the Year from Father Ryan High School in Nashville, Tenn...two-star recruit according to Rivals.com...hit 12 of 15 FG attempts as a senior with a long of 53 yards...50 of 55 kickoffs were touchbacks...made all 37 of his extra-point attempts....played for Bruce Lussier at Father Ryan...made the Tennessean Dream Team...four year letter winner on the soccer team...named to the honor roll numerous times during high school...PERSONAL...Full name is Nick Charles Pollard...born July 16, 1991...son of Scott and Jennifer Pollard...has one younger brother, Mitchell...plans to major in Pre-Law/Criminal Justice.

Chas Presnell - OL - 6-6 - 265 - Carrollton, Ga. (Carrollton HS)          
All-region lineman from Carrollton High School in Carrollton, Ga...played for former Moc Rayvan Teague at CHS...earned the Iron Trojan award each of his last two seasons...named outstanding offensive lineman as a junior...added all-area honors during his senior year...helped Carrollton to a 10-2 mark as a senior and 30-7 his last three seasons...same high school as current Mocs Nick Craig, J.D. Dothard and Wes Dothard...PERSONAL...Full name is Charles Edward Presnell III...born Jan. 23, 1992...son of Kimberly and Charles Presnell...has two older sisters, Nicole and Sarah...plans to major in Business with a minor in Graphic Arts.

"Chas is one of our early commitments who is a big offensive lineman.  We liked the way he moved and we liked his footwork.  We are thrilled to have him.  We battled some pretty decent teams in our league to get Chas.  He came to a couple of games this year and liked the atmosphere and liked what was happening."


Zack Rayl - LB - 6-3 - 208 - Fr-HS - Englewood, Tenn. (McMinn Central HS)  
Three-time all-region performer from McMinn Central High School in Englewood, Tenn...all-region as a linebacker during his senior season...played for head coach and UTC graduate Josh Goodin...Offensive Player of the Year at quarterback as a senior...two-year letter winner in basketball and baseball...all-region player in baseball...graduated in the top 10% of his class...earned the football team's Scholar Award...last name is pronounced "rail"...PERSONAL...Born Oct. 6, 1990...son of David and Bridgette Rayl and Trisa Watson...father played tight end for the Mocs for two seasons...oldest of five with two younger brothers, Ryan and Gabe, and two younger sisters, Amanda and Ashlyn...plans to major in Electrical Engineering.

"Zack will be a linebacker for us.  We had him in camp, fell in love with him, offered him and he committed during the season.  We were so impressed with him as a football player and a student that we offered him off of what we saw in our camp and from his junior film. We don't do that often."    


Keyon Reed - DE - 6-1 - 240 - Fr-HS - Palm Bay, Fla. (Palm Bay HS) 
All-star defensive end from Palm Bay High School in Palm Bay, Fla...All-Space Coast First Team Defense as a senior...Brevard County All-Star selection...FACA All-Star selection...led the Pirates to a 9-4 mark as a senior...PBHS went 9-3 during his junior season when he played on the offensive line...helped Palm Beach HS to a 10-4 mark as a sophomore...earned the Area I Excellence Award for his work in the classroom...finished third in a poetry contest at PBHS...played for head coach Dan Burke...PERSONAL...Born Sept. 10, 1991...brother, Walter, is a linebacker at Dean College (Mass.)...plans to major in Criminal Justice.

Terrell Robinson - QB - 6-3 - 180 - South Pittsburg, Tenn. (South Pittsburg HS)        
Tennessee Mr. Football Division I-A Back of the Year award winner from South Pittsburg High School in South Pittsburg, Tenn...all-state selection at quarterback who led the Pirates to the I-A title game...Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps Player of the Year...district offensive player of the year and team MVP...threw for 1,687 yards, rushed for 1,322 yards and scored 46 total TDs as a senior...played for head coach Vic Grider...four-year letter winner in basketball and district player of the year as a junior...two-time time Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps basketball player...Salutatorian who is also a member of the Beta Club and earned the Highest Grade in Algebra Award...represented Marion County at the Leadership Summit in Nashville...PERSONAL...Born Oct. 28, 1991...son of Vincent Robinson and Deandrea Jones...has an older brother, Antonio, and a younger sister, Kelsey...Vincent played football at UTC in 1988-89...Antonio currently plays at Tennessee Tech...plans to major in Business.

"I think everybody in the area knows about Terrell.  If you talk about the marquee player in the area, that is Terrell. He is the only quarterback we are taking in this class.  We think his upside is fantastic.  We had him in camp this summer with 15 other QBs and he came out as our No. 1 guy."


Devin Scates - DL - 6-2 - 250 - Memphis, Tenn. (Westwood HS)         
Three-year starter at Westwood High School in Memphis Tenn...played for head coach Ryan Williams...recorded 41 tackles, 15 tackles-for-loss and six sacks as a senior at defensive end...made the honor roll numerous times during high school...PERSONAL...Born Oct. 30, 1991...son of Teresa Smith...plans to major in Engineering.

Faysal Shafaat - TE - 6-5 - 235 - Fr-HS - Orlando, Fla. (Orlando Lutheran Academy) 
Top-100 Central Florida recruit  from Orlando Lutheran Academy in Orlando, Fla...had 26 catches for 538 yards and eight TDs...also played defensive end, recording 101 tackles...led the state of Florida with 20 sacks...helped Orlando Lutheran to a 7-3 record as a senior...Crusaders went10-2 during his junior year...played for head coach Michael Viera...made the honor roll...also a standout basketball player who was the league MVP and first team all-district as a junior...name is pronounced "fes-EL sha-FAHT"...PERSONAL...Born Oct. 17, 1991...son of Michelle and Rizvan Shafaat...has a younger brother, Imran, and younger sister, Alia...undecided on a major.

"Faysal is very athletic.  He was always the most athletic guy on the field.  In think if he was at a bigger school, we would not be able to touch him because of his athleticism.  We had to have a tight end in this class and he was the guy we needed."


Muhasibi Wakeel - LB - 5-11 - 200 - Fr-HS - Decatur, Ga. (Southwest Dekalb HS)      
Two-time all-region, all-county and all-state linebacker from Southwest Dekalb High School in Decatur, Ga...four-year starter for head coach Buck Godfrey...helped lead the Panthers to the second round of the state playoffs as a senior with a 10-2 record...recorded 169 tackles as a senior...led the team to the state quarterfinals and a 9-4 mark as a junior...added 148 tackles as a junior...made 104 tackle as a sophomore, giving him 100+ tackles in each of his last three seasons...name is pronounced "mu-HA-suh-bee wah-KEEL"...PERSONAL...Born Oct. 4, 1991...son of Rasheedah Guyden and Imad Wakeel...has two young brothers, Imad and Ibrahim, and one older sister, Surrayya...father ran track at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga...undecided on a major.

"Muhasibi comes from Southwest DeKalb and they have put out some great football players.  We recruited him for a long time and he finally committed to us on his visit.  We watched him on film and he was one of a few we offered off of their film.  I think he gives us a bright future at the linebacker position."
