The Mocs got goals from four different players including three each from junior Becca Smith (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) and senior Donna-Kay Henry (Queens Village, N.Y.).
Junior Kelsey Swann (Hixson, Tenn.) got the scoring started in the first half slotting a goal in from the right past the Sewanee keeper. Freshman Crystal Mackezyk (Columbia, Tenn.) dribbled down the left side and passed the ball to classmate Andi Argueta (Clarksville, Tenn.) who was keeping pace. With a defender on her, Argueta sent a quick pass to the middle of the box to Swann who sent the shot home for the score.
The Mocs got its second goal from Smith who headed in her first goal into the right side off a corner kick from the left from junior Lauren Wilson (Columbia, Tenn.). Chattanooga led 2-0 at the break.
The second half saw a flurry of goals starting with Swann's second of the match. She took a pass from Smith and sent a shot into the middle of the net. Chattanooga quickly scored again with Argueta getting in on the act this time with a pass from Mackezyk to the middle. The Mocs third goal of the half and fifth of the match was pushed in by Mackezyk who drew a pass from Smith at midfield.
Smith scored Chattanooga's sixth goal from the left side, at about 20 yards out, on a pass from Swann on the left side. Henry scored the Mocs next three goals, virtually unassisted after picking up the ball at midfield and outpacing the field to the goal and shooting past the Tiger keeper.
Smith's third goal of the night was a hard drilled shot from about 12 yards out on the left side. Swann was tied down by the defense near the end line when Smith called for the pass. She picked it up and sent a low liner into the right side of the net for the 10th goal.
The Mocs defense was staunch, not allowing many shots by Sewanee. Henry worked the goal for the first half while fellow senior Danielle Barr (Hixson, Tenn.) cover the net for the second 45 minutes.
Chattanooga will wrap up the spring season Saturday, April 14 at Finley Stadium. Currently scheduled to participate are Covenant College and Tennessee Temple.
