CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's soccer team will travel to Greenville, S.C., for a weekday matchup against Southern Conference foe Furman.
The Lady Mocs are 3-9 overall and, with a win over Elon at home, are 1-3 in Southern Conference action. Junior Donna-Kay Henry leads the team in scoring with 12 points on five goals and two assists. Sophomore Becca Smith and freshman Kerbi Towry each have two goals for the Lady Mocs and, along with Henry, Lauren Wilson, Anna Cusick and Hayley Sloan each have two assists.
Freshman keeper Taylor Mangrum (2-7-0) has held court in goal for Chattanooga this season playing in 10 of UTC's 12 games. She leads the league with 77 saves and has a .794 saves percentage. Mangrum has a 2.54 goals against average through 10 games.
The Paladins are 7-3-2 overall and unbeaten in SoCon play at 2-0-2. Furman has league wins over Georgia Southern (3-1) and Western Carolina (2-1) to go along with double-overtime 1-1 ties against Davidson and Appalachian State. Martha Hall and Rachel Shelnutt lead the league in scoring with 18 points each. Hall has two assists and a Socon best eight goals. Shelnutt is tied for third in the SoCon in goals scored with six and is tied for first with six assists. In goal, Jessica Smith has logged all 1144 minutes for Furman and has given up just 10 goal with a league-best .873 saves percentage and has a 0.79 goals against average.
Furman has won all 16 matches against Chattanooga. Last season, the Lady Mocs allowed the Paladins just one goal.
The game will kick-off Thursday evening at Stone Stadium in Greenville, S.C., at 7 p.m.
