SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Donna-Kay Henry (Queens Village, N.Y.) was named the Southern Conference women's soccer Player of the Week for all matches played Oct. 18-24, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Henry, a junior forward, scored three goals as the Lady Mocs rallied to beat Georgia Southern Friday afternoon in Statesboro, Ga., by a 4-1 margin. With the score knotted 1-1, Henry took a pass from sophomore Becca Smith (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) and beat the keeper to notch the game-winner in the 50th minute. The junior added two more tallies to push her total nine on the season.
This marks the third straight year that Henry has scored at least eight goals in a season. The three goals propelled her to second all-time at UTC for points and goals scored on the career charts.
The Lady Mocs will close out the regular season Wednesday evening at Finley Stadium when they host Samford in the Southern Rail Rivalry Series. Prior to the 6 p.m. kick-off, the Lady Mocs will bid farewell to seniors Serena Allen and Kelly Downs. Admission is free. Live stats and video streaming will be available.
