CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's soccer player Serena Allen (Knoxville, Tenn.) was named to the 2011 CoSIDa/ESPN Academic All-District Team Tuesday.

"Serena is 'Miss Consistency'. She works just as hard in the classroom as she does on the field," Chattanooga Head Coach J.D. Kyzer said. "She came in as a freshman and never stepped off the field until her last game as a senior this year. It is very hard for defenders to get recognition without tangible stats."

Allen, a four-year starter for the Lady Mocs, started 69 games for Chattanooga, ranking her seventh in school history in that category. Over her career she scored one goal and tallied an assist playing defender throughout her career.

In the classroom, Allen has recorded a perfect 4.0 over each of the last three semesters and maintains a 3.78 GPA in Biology as a pre-professional major. She has been named to the UTC Dean's List and Athletics Director's Honor Roll as well as the Southern Conference Fall Honor Roll. She is also a recipient of the Southern Conference Commissioner's Medal for academics.
