Despite record high temperatures gripping the Scenic City, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's soccer program is holding its annual youth soccer camp on the UTC campus.
Campers, ages 5-14, are taking part in the five-day Kyzer Soccer Centre camp that kicked off Monday morning at the Challenger Field. Head Coach J.D. Kyzer, along with Assistant Coach Sam Stroud and other instructors, teach the fundamentals of soccer in training stations and competitive games throughout the day. The group even held its own version of the World Cup with teams of two competing against each other to score goals.
On Wednesday, the campers were treated to snow-cones at lunchtime to help ward off the scorching temperatures.
