Sophomore Kaylene Chadwell (Franklin, Tenn.) and freshman Kelsey Coots (Huntsville, Ala.) led the doubles teams with a pair of wins in the Purple Flight. They opened with a 9-7 win over South Alabama's Newton and Martin, followed by an 8-4 win against Furman's Standford and Oudin. They will face VCU's Yakavleva and Kvitashvilli in tomorrow's finals.
Senior Jenna Nurik (Roswell, Ga.) teamed with sophomore Claire Mulyadi (Semarang, Indonesia) for two wins in the Gold Flight. They will face Brenau's Perdomo and Nagels in the finals.
Freshmen Kayla Jones (Memphis, Tenn.) and Katie Polk (Woodstock, Ga.) continued the strong start to their collegiate careers with a pair of doubles wins. They are also in tomorrow's finals and will face USC Upstate's Kuerten and Rojas in the Silver Flight.
Junior Alexa Flynn (Memphis, Tenn.) and freshman Alison Storie (Johnson City, Tenn.) are in the Bronze Finals. They had an opening round bye, but defeated Wofford's Sanchez and Przystawski in the semis (8-6). They will go against Upstate's Von Stryk and Beeler.
Nurik competed in the top singles draw, but dropped her match to Clemson's Jessy Rompies. Chadwell posted a three-set win over Emory's Jordan Wylie (1-6, 7-5, 7-6). She is joined in main flight semifinals by Flynn (No. 5), Coots (No. 8), Mulyadi (No. 9), Jones (No. 11) and freshman Jovana Pecovski (Apitan, Serbia) (No. 12) who also had singles wins today.
