Track Opens Outdoor Season Friday at USF Invite
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's and women's track and field team travel to Tampa, Fla., this weekend to open the 2013 outdoor season at the USF Bulls Invitational Friday at the USF Track and Field Stadium.

In the sprints, freshman Geoff Nelson (Brentwood, Tenn.) will compete in the 200- and 400m dashes and run the second leg of the men's 4x400m relay. Senior Blake Olson (Pleasant View, Tenn.) is slated to run the anchor of the 4x400m relay and the 400m hurdles.

Sophomore Patrick O'Brien (Chattanooga, Tenn.) will run the third leg of the 4x400m relay while also competing in the 800m and 1500m events. Freshman Marquis Carter (Memphis, Tenn.) will run the opening leg of the 4x400m relay and then compete in the 1500m run.

Freshmen Taylor Hawk (Dandridge, Tenn.) and Austin Ethridge (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) will run the men's 800m while Ethridge is slated to run the 1500m event. Freshman Matthew Marshall (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) will run the men's 3000m while Darby, Hawk and senior Nathan Wanuch (Mississauga, Ontario) will participate in the 3000 meter Steeplechase.

In the women's races, sophomore Amanda Sumner (Bristol, Conn.) will run the 800m while Jessica Philpott (Manchester, Tenn.) is slated to run the 1500m. Sophomore Keeley Stewart (Winchester, Tenn.) will run the women's 3000 meter event while freshmen Rebecca Greenwall (Bogart, Ga.) and Teghan Henderson (Pickering, Ontario) will compete in the women's 3000 meter Steeplechase.

The Friday running events will begin with the steeplecase at 2:30 p.m. with the 1500 meter runs to follow. The event will wrap up with the 4x400m relay. Live scoring will be available at with a complete wrap up to follow.
