CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s soccer team will head to Boone, N.C., Friday for a Southern Conference matchup at Appalachian State. This will be the last meeting between the two schools within the confines of league play. The Mountaineers will become a member of the Sun Belt Conference next season. The game is slated to kick off at 7 p.m.

The Mocs posted a strong non-conference slate with a 4-3 mark, but have fallen through the last four matchups, all in league play, to drop to 4-7 overall. Chattanooga has scored 20 goals so far this season with 17 assists. Junior Crystal Mackezyk leads the team with five goals and three assists for a team-high 13 points. Sophomore Clare Latham has four goals and three assists putting her second on the scoring charts with 11 points. Freshman Monica Speth has stepped up with three goals of her own along with three assists. The Mocs lost sophomore Hannah Wyatt for the season after suffering an injury against Davidson at home. In goal, senior Taylor Mangrum has made 59 saves through nine games and seven starts with a 3-5 record. She has given up 19 goals for a 2.67 goals against average and has a .756 saves percentage. Sophomore Lauren Thomas has played more than 350 minutes in the net with 25 saves (.658) and given up 13 goals for a 1-2 record including a shutout.

The Mountaineers are unbeaten in league play with an overtime win against Davidson and a 3-1 victory against Georgia Southern. In the matches before that, ASU tied Elon 3-3 in double overtime as well as UNCG (1-1). Samantha Childress leads App State with six goals while Julia Holz has a team-high 14 points with five goals and four assists. Jane Cline has chipped in three goals and an assist as well. The team has 18 goals and 15 assists. Megan Roberson has started nine games for ASU with 36 saves (.706) and given up 15 goals (1.55 GAA) while Amy Kolowsky has the team’s other two starts with eight saves (.727) and given up just three goals (1.47 GAA).
