The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s tennis team continues fall action this weekend at the Georgia State Southern Shootout. UTC is joined by the host Panthers, Emory and Louisiana-Monroe at the event that runs from Oct. 11-13.
Action begins Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. (E.D.T.) at the Sharon Lester Tennis Center at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Ga. Doubles kicks off the day, followed by singles at approximately 10 a.m. There is a second round of doubles scheduled for the afternoon.
Saturday’s action begins at 4 p.m. with doubles, followed by singles at 5 p.m. Sunday will feature one round of singles at 9 a.m.
All eight members of the Lady Mocs team will compete in doubles action. Senior Alexa Flynn and sophomore Kayla Jones, both natives of Memphis, Tenn., make up Chattanooga’s top tandem. Juniors Claire Mulyadi (Semarang, Indonesia) and Kaylene Chadwell (Franklin, Tenn.) are also paired up this weekend.
Sophomore Kelsey Coots (Huntsville, Ala.) is making her fall debut and is teamed with fellow sophomore Katie Polk (Woodstock, Ga.). Sophomores Alison Storie (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Jovana Pecovski (Apatin, Serbia) will also compete as a doubles team. Coots is the only member of the team not competing in singles this weekend.
