MOCS HOST THE CITADEL. SENIORS TO BE HONORED SUNDAY IN HOME FINALE

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s soccer team will honor its three seniors prior to Sunday’s kick off against The Citadel at 2 p.m.

CHATTANOOGA (5-9-0, 0-6-0 SoCon)
The Mocs are 5-3 in non-conference play and ended a six-game losing skid Friday with a win over non-conference foe Francis Marion. UTC posted wins over Tennessee Temple (5-0), UNC Asheville (2-1), South Carolina State (5-1) and Tennessee Tech (2-1). In their last outing UTC fell 1-0 to Western Carolina in overtime and dropped close decisions to Davidson (3-2) and Georgia Southern (2-1).

Junior Crystal Mackezyk (Columbia, Tenn.) missed both games last weekend with an injury but returned to the pitch Friday and assisted on all three of Chattanooga's goals. She leads the team with five goals and six assists (16 points). Sophomore Clare Latham (Cordova, Tenn.) has started all 14 games for Chattanooga and is second on the team in scoring with five goals and three assists on 16 shots taken. Freshman Monica Speth (Janesville, Wisc.) is third on the team with four goals and three assists. Adding two goals apiece are sophomores Melanie Arredondo (Tampico, Mexico), Loryn Queen (Lanesville, Ind.) and Hannah Wyatt (Soddy Daisy, Tenn.). Wyatt, however, suffered a season-ending injury against Davidson. Senior Taylor Mangrum (Franklin, Tenn.) has given up 26 of Chattanooga’s 40 goals against though 12 games and 10 starts while making 81 saves (.750 saves percentage).

THE CITADEL (4-8-2, 2-5-0 SoCon)
The Bulldogs shocked league-leading Samford 3-2 Friday night to add a second league win to its record. The Citadel's other SoCon win came against Elon in a 2-1 affair for the victory while falling to Furman (7-0), Wofford (2-0), UNCG (5-3), Davidson (3-0) and Georgia Southern (3-2). Their other two wins include non-conference victories against Jacksonville State (3-1) and Charleston Southern (2-1). Mariana Garcia has a team-high six goals while Lea Raedle leads the team with six assists and two goals, both game winners. Ruth Leiva has three goals and Nicole Levermann added two goals Friday in the win to run her total to four on the year. Keeper Naomi Carter has made 130 saves, a league-high and given up 39 scores.

CHATTANOOGA vs. THE CITADEL
Chattanooga leads the series 7-3-1 including a 3-2 win on the road last year. The Citadel posted three straight wins beginning in 2009 with a 1-0 victory in Charleston followed by a 2-0 win on the road and a 2-1 topping in Chattanooga. The lone tie was a 1-1 double overtime affair in 2006 at the Bulldogs’ home field. Last year Kelsey Swann put in a pair of goals with assist from Loryn Queen on both while the game winner came off the foot of Becca Smith on a penalty kick.
