Mocs Track Heads to Tennessee State Invitational

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s track and field team will be one of 35 teams at the annual Tennessee State Invitational at the Wilma Rudolph Track this Saturday in Nashville, Tenn.

The event will be a tune-up for the Mocs who will be headed to the Samford Invitational next weekend in Birmingham, Ala. Chattanooga will field teams in the Distance Medley Relay as well as the middle and long distance races. Senior Mark Cole will run the 800 meter instead of his normal longer distances while senior Nathan Wanuch will be making his debut this season along with Matthew Marshall, Patrick O’Brien  and Marquis Carter.

“We’ll be mixing it up,” Chattanooga head coach Bill Gautier said. “We’ll focus on the relays, but most of the guys will be running events they don’t normally run as we prep for the Samford meet next week.”

The event is slated to start Saturday morning and results will be at as soon as they become available.
