Henderson Qualifies in Two Events for NCAA Region

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga redshirt freshman Teghan Henderson (Pickering, Ontario) will compete in the NCAA East Region meet at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla., May 29-31. The event will be hosted by the University of North Florida.

Henderson ran a school record 16:13.03 in the 5000m at the Stanford Invitational to earn a qualifying spot in the race later this month. She went on the claim the title in the 5K at the Southern Conference Championships.

In the 10,000 meter run at the league championships, Henderson posted a Southern Conference record, previously held by former UTC runner Lanni Marchant. She claimed her second straight league title at the outdoor championships and qualified for the NCAA Region for the 10K as well.

Henderson will only run in one of the two events. The 10K is scheduled May 29 in Jacksonville while the 5000 meter will be run two days later on May 31. Stay posted to for further information as the race date nears.
