SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE STATE
The Lady Mocs and Jacksonville State last met in Wes Moore's second season with UTC taking an 80-73 victory. That was the seventh of Chattanooga's wins in eight meetings dating back to 1977. The Gamecocks, led by former Davidson head coach Annette Watts, are 0-8 on the year that includes losses to Samford, Alabama and, most recently, Lipscomb. JSU is averaging 52.8 points per game and give up 65.6 to its opponents. On the boards, the Gamecocks are just slightly outrebounded by foes 39-4.39.2. Jacksonville State is forced into 21.5 turnovers per game and average 7.0 steals. JSU is shooting 34.2 percent from the field and 21.1 percent from beyond the arc. At the charity stripe, the Gamecocks are shooting 69.9 percent (93-113). Briana Morrow leads the team in with 9.6 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game. Miranda Cantrell is second on the team in scoring with 8.3 ppg and 4.9 rpg. Dashauna Truss has a team-high seven 3-pointers and 21 assists.

LADY MOCS RECEIVE VOTES IN AP TOP 25
After winning the season opener against No. 20 Tennessee, the Lady Mocs received 10 votes in the AP Top 25 Poll and followed that up the next week with 12. UTC is still receiving votes in the poll released this week as well as the USA Today Coaches Poll.

LADY MOCS FIFTH IN THE MID-MAJOR POLL
The Lady Mocs (7-1) received 578 votes in the Mid-Major poll on Nov. 27 and ranked sixth. Gonzaga (6-1), with 12 first place votes, is ranked first with 756 points followed by Green Bay (4-1) with 18 first place votes and 740 points. Middle Tennessee (4-1) climbed from fifth to third with one first place vote and 638 points while Delaware (2-2) dropped to fourth with 595 points followed by BYU (3-3) with 580 points.

DEWART NABS WEEKLY HONORS
Junior Ashlen Dewart was selected the Player of the Week by both the Southern Conference and College Sports Madness for the week of Dec. 10. Dewart led five Lady Mocs in double figures with 19 points and eight rebounds in Chattanooga's win over Alabama. This is her first Player of the Week nod at Chattanooga and her fourth overall.

CHRISTOPHER RECORDS DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Senior Kayla Christopher recorded her first double-double with 10 point and 10 rebounds in Chattanooga's win at Alabama on Dec. 8. Christopher was 3-of-7 from beyond the arc and added in a free throw while pulling down seven defensive rebounds.

HOT FROM BEYOND THE ARC
UTC has made at least one 3-point shot in 409 consecutive games dating back to December 31, 1999 against Appalachian State in Wes Moore's second season. Chattanooga broke its own Southern Conference and school single-game 3-point record with 16 treys in a televised game against Georgia Southern on Dec. 4, 2010. Samford tied the record last season with 16 against Jacksonville State on Nov. 30. The previous record of 15 was reached twice by the Lady Mocs and once by Samford. The most UTC has made in a season was 257, accomplished twice with the latest in 2009-10.

HOME COURT WIN STREAK CLIMBS
The Lady Mocs posted a perfect 13-0 record at the Roundhouse last season. UTC has won all four games this season at McKenzie and has run its win streak to 17 games.
