CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s and women’s outdoor track team will head to Nashville for the annual Boston Moon Relays hosted by Tennessee State University.
The Mocs, prepping for the upcoming Southern Conference Championships in Statesboro, Ga., next weekend, will run in many “off events” according to Head Coach Bill Gautier.
Sophomore Amanda Sumner (Bristol, Conn.) will run the 800 meter Open race and Keeley Stewart (Winchester, Tenn.) will line up for the 1500m run. Freshman Marquis Carter who posted a second place finish at the SoCon Indoor Championships will run the 400m and the mile relay this weekend.
The event will be a homecoming of sorts for freshman Geoff Nelson, a native of Nashville.
The running events will begin at 9:30 a.m. Central Time with the 3000 meter steeplechase and wrap up with the 4x400m relay. The event will feature teams from 10 universities including Chattanooga, host Tennessee State as well as Lipscomb and Vanderbilt. Twenty-three high schools will also be participating in the mixed event.
