Sammi Parks begins her first season as an assistant coach with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga softball team. She will serve as the squad's pitching coach.

Parks spent the past three seasons playing overseas. New Zealand was the final stop where she participated with Otahuhu as they finished second in the Acukland Softball Association, the highest in program history, along with a placing second in all of New Zeland.

Prior to going to New Zealand, Parks competed in Austria for two years with the Vienna Mosquitos and helped coach the Austria National Team working with the senior squad in 2009 and junior team in 2010. The 2009 squad registered a seventh place finish in the European Championships.

The Riverside Calif., native was a four-year student-athlete at Belmont as an infielder and pitcher. Parks ranks in first in various Briuns single-season pitching categories during the program's Division I era including innings (221.0), appearances (44), wins (12) and strikeouts (169).

She also received All-Atlantic Sun Second Team honors during the 2007 campaign as a utility player and was selected to the conference's all-freshman team in 2006.

Parks graduated in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science.
