It was a hard-fought win for the Mocs. The squad trailed by one to Davidson after opening with a 298. They played with the toughest weather conditions making the 298 one of the more impressive rounds of the season due to winds gusting to more than 30 miles per hour.

Round two proved to be moving day as Chattanooga shot the score of the day with a 290 (+2) to take a three-shot lead into the final 18 over Davidson and 12 strokes over third-place College of Charleston.

That final 18 was a rollercoaster ride. UTC surged to a seven-shot advantage early only to see it dwindle to three at the turn. Over the course of the next three holes, the margin jumped back to eight with six to play.

Give the Wildcats credit, they battled to the end. Davidson closed to within two strokes with the final group on 18. That was the Mocs final margin of victory however as Steven Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.) matched Todd Eckstein shot for shot over the final holes.

Fox earned his third runner-up finish of 2012-13 with a one-over par 217. Davis Bunn (Knoxville, Tenn.) was sixth at plus four (220), while Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) made it a trio of Mocs in the top 10 tying for 10th at 224 (+8).

UTC learns its NCAA Regional location on Monday, May 6, at 9 p.m., on NCAA.com. The possible landing spots are Baton Rouge, La., Columbus, Ohio, Fayetteville, Ark., Tallahassee, Fla., Pullman, Wash., and Tempe, Ariz.
