Men's Golf Reciving National Attention

The Mocs are currently ranked No. 12 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Ratings Index.  In its last four tournaments, Chattanooga has two firsts, one second and one third-place finish.  Its record in those events is 60-3 (.952) with a 10-3 record against teams in the top 40 at the time of the event with a 186-stroke advantage (14.3 strokes per team).


Notable wins by tournament with ranking at the time of the event:


First-place at Cleveland Palmetto Intercollegiate: 

No. 30 Virginia Tech (30 shots), No. 22 Penn State (50).


Third-place at Linger Longer Invitational: 

No. 19 Texas Tech (17), No. 16 Clemson (20), No. 35 Michigan (26), No. 33 Mississippi State (40)


Second-place at USA Mobile Bay Intercollegiate: 

No. 37 Mississippi State (9)


First-place at Furman Intercollegiate: 

No. 23 Clemson (3), No. 16 South Carolina (8), No. 33 Virginia Tech (16)


Against Southern Conference opponents this year, the Mocs are 14-0 with a 597-stroke advantage in five tournaments.


Individually, junior Jonathan Hodge has three wins this season which is a new school season record and ties for the career record.  He is currently ranked No. 22 in the Golfstat Cup and No. 31 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Ratings Index.


UTC returns to action in less than a week traveling to Mississippi for the Bank of America Intercollegiate, April 7-8, at the Reunion Golf and Country Club in Madison, Miss.  The event is hosted by Ole Miss.
