CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga golf program received an invitation to the prestigious PING/Golfweek Preview Invitational. The 20th annual Preview will be played Sept. 28-30 at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. It is held each fall at the site of the following spring’s NCAA Division I Men’s Championship.
“Only the top teams in the country get invited to this event,” said Head Coach Mark Guhne. “It is quite an honor for our program. It gives us an opportunity not only to get an idea of tournament play at Inverness, but also lets us gauge where we are mid-way through the fall schedule.”
Chattanooga joins Georgia, USC, Alabama, Oklahoma State, Florida, Charlotte, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Clemson, Kent State, Florida State, Texas A&M, Arizona State and host team Toledo. Out of the 15-team field, 11 finished ranked in the top 15 in 2008, with Chattanooga coming in at No. 12.
