AUGUSTA, Ga. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's golf team is in 11th-place after 36 holes of the Administaff Augusta State Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club.  Chattanooga shot rounds of 293 and 280 and is just two shots behind a trio of teams including No. 11 Illinois and No. 16 Alabama.

Host Augusta State, ninth-ranked in the country, holds an eight-stroke lead over No. 17 South Carolina with a total of 544 (-32).  The Gamecocks' second round 266 (-22) moved them to 552, seven shots ahead of third-place Tennessee.

The Mocs got off to a sluggish start with a first round total of 293, five-over par.  Jaeger opened with a two-under par 70, which tied him for eighth after 18 holes.  Rende had the only other UTC par or better round with a 72 (E).

Chattanooga shook off that opening score to follow with the eight-under par 280.  Jaeger once again led the way with a four-under par 68.  J.T. Clendenin shot his low round of the season with a 69 (-3), while Rende added a 71 (-1).  Fredrik Qvicker's 72 (E) provided the Mocs with four par or better rounds.

Jaeger is tied for 12th at six-under (138).  Rende is minus-one, at 143, and is tied for 33rd.  Clendenin's 69 gave him a one-over par total of 145.

Qvicker is tied for 65th at 147 (75-72), while Steven Fox rounded out the Mocs' scoring tied for 72nd at 149 (76-73).  Freshman Alex Ratliff is playing as an individual and is tied with Fox at 149 including a one-under par 71 in the second round.

Augusta State's Patrick Reed leads the tourney at 11-under par, 133, after rounds of 66 and 67.  Alabama's Bud Cauley is tied for second at 135 (-9) with Clemson's Corbin Mills.

Fox will lead the Mocs onto the course Sunday.  He tees off No. 10 at 9 a.m., followed by Qvicker, Clendenin, Rende and Jaeger.  Chattanooga is paired with Alabama and Kent State.
