SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's golfer Stephan Jaeger (Munich, Germany) has been on quite an awards run of late. He added to his hardwire Thursday as the Southern Conference announced him as the March Golfer of the Month.
Jaeger shot three-over par over nine March rounds with a tie for fourth against a strong field at the Linger Longer Invitational and tie for 10th at the Furman Intercollegiate. He posted five par or better rounds with three 69s (-3) serving as his low mark.
Yesterday, the junior health and human performance major earned his third consecutive SoCon Golfer of the Week honor. The first two came in March sharing it with Furman's Matt Broome after the Furman Intercollegiate and winning it outright following his impressive Linger Longer performance.
For the spring portion of the schedule, Jaeger is four-under par. He is averaging 71.63 strokes per round for the season, 71.17 during the spring slate. He is level par for the year.
Jaeger leads the Mocs back in action April 17-19 at the SoCon Championship. The championship returns to the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence where Chattanooga won the 2007, 2008 and 2009 titles.
