Chattanooga Menís Golf Takes 4-shot Lead into Final Round
Davis Bunn is tied for 16th after today's 72.

FLORENCE, S.C.---The Chattanooga men's golf team captured sole possession of the lead Monday at the Southern Conference Championship at the Country Club of South Carolina.  The Mocs turned in an even-par round of 288.

There are six teams within nine shots of each other.  Chattanooga leads Georgia Southern by four and Samford by five.  UNC Greensboro is six back, College of Charleston eight and Wofford is nine off the pace.

Stephan Jaeger (Munich, Germany) and Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) lead the Mocs tied for fourth at two under, 142.  Robb shot his second straight 71 (-1), while Jaeger carded a level par 72.  Robb now has five par or better rounds at the Country Club of South Carolina this season in as many opportunities.

Freshman Davis Bunn (Knoxville, Tenn.) matched Jaeger's 72.  He is tied for 16th at 146 (+2) with teammates Benni Weilguni (Langelois, Austria) and Steven Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.).  Fox and Weilguni turned in rounds of 73 (+1).

Chattanooga got off to a hot start.  It made the turn at nine-under torching the front nine with an eagle and nine birdies on its counting cards.  There was a bit of a stumble coming in, but UTC did take ownership of the lead heading into Tuesday's final 18.

The Mocs are again paired with Samford and Georgia Southern in tomorrow's final round.  Fox is off first on No. 1 at 8:50 a.m.  He'll be followed by Bunn (9:00), Weilguni (9:10), Robb (9:20) and Jaeger (9:30).  Live scoring can be found on on the men's golf schedule page.
