Ben Rickett wins British Open regional qualifier
Former Mocs standout and current assistant coach Ben Rickett (Surrey, England) won his regional qualifier in his quest to play in the 2011 British Open.  He was one of 15 to move from East Sussex National to the final stage of qualifying June 28 which will be at one of four courses (Littlestone, Prince's, Royal Cinque Ports and Rye).

Rickett shot five-under par 67 besting Lasse Sonne Nielson, Tom Coulson and Matthew King by two.  The 15 qualifiers carded a 72 or better to move on.

The 2011 British Open returns Royal St. George's in Sandwich, Kent, England.  This is the 14th Open Championship at Royal St. George's with previous visits in 1894, 1899, 1904, 1911, 1922, 1928, 1934, 1938, 1949, 1981, 1985, 1993 and 2003.

Jaeger begins BMW International Open Thursday in Germany
Stephan Jaeger (Munich, Germany) is one of two amateurs (Marcel Schneider) invited to participate in the BMW International Open in Munich this week.  The event is a featured event on the European PGA Tour.

Jaeger opens play on Thursday, June 23, with the tourney ending Sunday, June 26.  The event is played at his home course, Golfclub München Eichenreid, in Munich.

Jaeger, Robb fall short of match play at British Amateur
Jaeger and Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) did not make into match play at the British Amateur Championship at Hillside and Hesketh Golf Clubs in Merseyside, England.  It was the first time in three tries that Jaeger did not advance to match play, while Robb was making his first appearance in the tournament.

Weilguni, Bunn are at Rice Planters Amateur
Davis Bunn (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Benni Weilguni (Langelois, Austria) are in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., for the Rice Planters Amateur June 21-25.  The 72-hole event is played at Snee Farm Country Club.  Results can be found here
