CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---It's back to the tee for the Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team. Chattanooga is in the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic October 15-16 at Berkeley Hills Country Club in suburban Atlanta.
The tourney lineup includes juniors Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) and Benni Weilguni (Langenlois, Austria), sophomore Liam Johnston (Dumfries, Scotland) and freshman Michael Monroe (Franklin, Tenn.) along with senior Steven Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.). Fox returns the lineup after successfully helping the U.S. win the 2012 World Amateur Team Championship. Kory Webb (Knoxville, Tenn.) is competing as an individual.
Robb has the team lead with a 72.22 scoring average. Monroe (72.67) and Weilguni (72.67) are both coming off strong season debuts at the Brickyard Collegiate. Less than a stroke separates top-to-bottom in the lineup with Fox (72.83) and Johnston (73.00) rounding out the squad.

HEAD COACH
MARK GUHNE (Chattanooga '84) is in his eighth year as a head coach, all
at Chattanooga. The Mocs have won 16
team titles under his watch, including four SoCon titles and one NCAA Regional.
He has been named SoCon Coach of the Year four times (2006, 2007, 2008 &
2012) and PING East Region Coach of the Year once (2009). He has coached 12 medalists and one U.S.
Amateur Champ (2012 - Steven Fox).
LAST TIME OUT
The Mocs fired a final round 277 (-11) to surge into a tie for fourth
with Virginia Tech at the Brickyard Collegiate Championship. UTC shot 291, 299
and 277 for a 54-hole total of plus three (867). The final round tally of 277
came with three 69s and a 70. Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) tied for
11th at two-under 214 (70-75-69).
UP NEXT
Three individuals are headed to the Pinetree Intercollegiate Oct. 22-23
at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga. The team's final event of the fall is
Oct. 27-28 at the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate. It's played at the Grandover
Resort East Course in Greensboro, N.C.
NOTES
- Robb has led the Mocs in each
of the last two events. His scoring average over those six rounds is 71.67. His
stroke average of 72.22 leads the squad.
- The final round 277 (-11) at
the Brickyard is tied for the sixth lowest competitive round in school history.
It is also tied for the second lowest score outside of Chattanooga behind the
-15 273 at the 2009 Administaff ASU Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in
Augusta, Ga. Robb, Benni Weilguni (Langenlois, Austria) and Michael Monroe
(Franklin, Tenn.) carded three-under par 69s, while Liam Johnston (Dumfries,
Scotland) added a 70.
- Monroe saw his first action of
his collegiate career, while Weilguni made his season debut. They acquitted
themselves well tying for 22nd shooting two-over par 218 over their 54 holes.
- UTC is making its second
straight appearance in the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic. It finished
second a year ago lead by a runner-up individual appearance by Steven Fox and a
tie for third by Stephan Jaeger.

- Chattanooga holds the record
for the low round in the event closing with a nine-under par 279 last year.
- U.S. Amateur Champion Steven
Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.) missed out on the Brickyard Collegiate. He spent
that weekend representing the United States at the 2012 World Amateur Team
Championship in Antalya, Turkey. Fox is joined on the team by Chris Williams
(Washington) and Justin Thomas (Alabama) with Jim Vernon serving as captain.
The event was shortened to 54 holes due to weather but it did not slow down the
American squad. The USA trio set a 54-hole record shooting 24-under par 404.
Fox finished tied for 10th in a field of 214 firing 71, 68, 69 for a six-under
par 208.
- There is one change to the lineup for the AutoTrader with Fox in and
Davis Bunn (Knoxville, Tenn.) out. Kory Webb (Knoxville, Tenn.) will play as an
individual.
- Webb, Bunn and Alex Ratliff
(Kingsport, Tenn.) are entered as individuals at the Pinetree Intercollegiate.
The event is Oct. 22-23 at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga. At the end of
the fall, eight Mocs will have a minimum of three competitive rounds.
- Robb posted his seventh career
round in the 60's with his final round 69 (-3) at the Brickyard Collegiate. He
has 21 career par or better rounds. He tied career highs with seven birdies
(2012 Linger Longer Invite) in a round and 13 total (2009 Springhill Suites
Coll. & 2012 Linger Longer Invite).
- Robb posted his 200th career
birdie at the Brickyard as well. He now has 210 birdies and 892 pars.
- Fox is the career active leader
in both categories. He has 315 birdies and 1,142 pars.
- Johnston is 16 birdies shy of
100 for his career.
- Weilguni needs 30 more birdies
for 200 and 33 pars for 600. He got his 10th eagle at the Brickyard.
