"I'm excited about the addition of these two young men," said head coach Mark Guhne. "We graduate four from the program and both of these young men will have an impact on our program. They are both a great fit competitively as well as personally with the team.
"Tennessee is a great state for junior golf," added Guhne. "There is a lot of talent, plus we are very fortunate to be in the city of Chattanooga which has great facilities, including our new practice facility which will open soon."
Bunn is one of three Division I signees from Farragut High School. He led the Admirals to back-to-back state titles and has three wins on the season including the recent SJGT Callaway Junior Classic.
The Greater Knoxville Amateur Champ won his region title in 2007 and 2009 and was named the Knoxville News-Sentinal Player of the Year in 2009. His teammates Brandon Rogers and Hayden Anderson were to sign with Tennessee and Georgia Southern, respectively.
Rue comes from nearby Athens, Tenn., and McMinn County High School. An inspirational story, Rue battled cancer (Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma) during his junior year after a promising start to his scholastic career.
A three-time TSSAA Class AAA qualifier, Rue recently finished third at the All-American Junior Golf Tour's (AAJGT) Golf Club at Bradshaw Farms event in October in Woodstock, Ga. He has four top five finishes on the junior tour in 2009.
The men's golf team has won three straight Southern Conference Championships, competed at the 2009 NCAA Finals and has been ranked No. 1 in the country each of the last two years.
