Mocs Host Wofford & Furman This Weekend

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s tennis team hosts Wofford and Furman in Southern Conference action this weekend.  The Mocs welcome the Terriers on Saturday, March 29, and Furman on Sunday, March 30, at the UTC Tennis Courts.

Chattanooga is 5-8 overall and 1-3 in SoCon action.  Sophomore Gino Delavalle has won four straight singles matches and is 6-4 at No. 4 this spring.

The Mocs have won two-straight against Wofford, including last year’s 5-2 win in Spartanburg.  First serve against the Terriers is set for Noon on Saturday.  Wofford is 7-8 overall and 2-2 in league action.  Rob Galloway leads the team with a 9-6 mark at No. 1.

Chattanooga will try to snap a 10-match slide to Furman on Sunday at Noon at the UTC Tennis Courts.  The Mocs have only won once in the previous 19 meetings with the Paladins and are 8-27 in the series.

Furman is 9-7 overall and 2-0 in SoCon matches.  Joel Cook is the reigning SoCon Player of the Week after going 4-0 in wins over Iowa and UNC Greensboro last week.

Be sure to check the men’s tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com for links to live scoring for both matches.

NOTE:  The postponed March 26 match against Lee University has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 2.  First serve is set for 2:30 p.m. (E.D.T.) on the UTC Tennis Courts.
