Menís Tennis Falls to No. 64 Furman 5-2 to Close Regular Season
GREENVILLE, S.C.--The Chattanooga men’s tennis team dropped the first three matches to No. 64 Furman and could not manage a comeback, falling to the Paladins 5-2 in the regular season finale for both teams.

The Mocs’ tandem of Badr Bouabdellah and Razvan Axente won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles, but Furman won the other two matches by identical 8-4 scores to claim the doubles point.

Mark Fynn and Peter Sauska won singles matches for the Mocs, but Furman claimed three-set wins at the No 1 and No. 6 positions to post a 5-2 win.

Fynn’s win is his 17th of the season to lead the Mocs. He is the team’s lone senior.

The Mocs finish the season at 5-4 in Southern Conference play. They will be the No 4 or No. 5 seed in next week’s Southern Conference Championships depending on the result of today’s Appalachian State match with Wofford. A Wofford win will give the Mocs the No. 4 seed, while an ASU win relegates the Mocs to the fifth position.

The Southern Conference Championships will commence Thursday in Charleston, S.C.
