The men’s tennis team will attempt to get back on the winning track this weekend as it hosts a pair of Southern Conference opponents.

The Mocs, 10-5 overall and 1-3 in the SoCon, have lost four straight matches, including three within the league after beginning the dual match season winning eight of nine.

Chattanooga hosts Appalachian State Friday at 2 p.m. and Furman Sunday at 1 p.m.  Both matches will be played at the Champion’s Club, and admission is free.

In last season’s matchups, the Mocs lost at Appalachian State, 4-3 and at Furman, 5-2.

The Mountaineers are 8-6 overall and 1-2 in SoCon play.  They have won two straight and four of five including victories over UNC Greensboro and Charlotte.

The Paladins own a 6-10 overall record and a 2-0 conference mark and host the College of Charleston Saturday before heading to Chattanooga.  Furman’s two SoCon wins have come against Georgia Southern and The Citadel.  The Paladins recently returned from a four-match trip to Montgomery, Ala., where they went 2-2 in the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic with wins over Brown and Charlotte.

Chattanooga Head Coach Carlos Garcia has switched up his singles lineup in recent matches but rely on the corps of his team, seniors Badr Bouabdellah and Razvan Axente and juniors Peter Sauska and Pavel Vostrikov.
