Mocs Drop Season Finale to Georgia Southern 5-2
Freshman Roberto Vieira
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team ended its 2009-10 season with a 5-2 loss at Georgia Southern today.  The Mocs scored one doubles win and a pair of victories in singles action.

Freshmen Ryan Pool and Roberto Vieira scored an 8-4 victory over Juan Melian Puigventos and Matthijis Verdam in the No. 1 doubles match.  The win evened their season record at 5-5.

Vieira finished out a strong freshman campaign with a three-set win over Puigventos at No. 1 singles.  He won 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to improve to 14-7 overall.  It was his sixth straight win to close out the season.

Freshman Stephen Crofford also won in singles play with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 win over Edio Casthanhel at No. 6.  With the victory, Crofford balanced out his singles record at 10-10 on the year.

Chattanooga's five wins more than doubled its victory total from last year.  With six freshman starting most of the final matches of the season, including four wins in the last nine, the future is bright for Mocs Tennis.
