The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team returns to Southern Conference action, hosting The Citadel and Elon this weekend.  The Mocs take on the Bulldogs on Friday, March 18, at 1:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) and the Phoenix on Sunday, March 20, at 1:00 p.m.  Both matches will be held on the UTC Tennis Courts.

GoMocs.com, the official website of Chattanooga Athletics, will have live scoring available for all of the Mocs' home matches this spring.  Links to the live scoring for both of this week's matches are available on the men's tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.

Chattanooga has won five of its last six matches and has a 6-7 overall record.  UTC is also 1-1 on SoCon matches and sits in a tie for fifth in the league.  The six wins surpass last year's total and represent the most for the Mocs' since going 12-10 in 2008.

Sophomore Jackson Tresnan (Apopka, Fla.) has been on fire over the last month.  He has won eight of his last nine singles matches playing the No. 4 position.  He leads the team with an 11-8 mark in singles play and is 8-1 at No. 4.

Sophomore Roberto Vieira (Bedfordview, South Africa) has won four of his last five to even his record at 8-8, including a 4-4 mark at No. 1.  Senior Rick van de Bovenkamp (Oud-Beyerland, The Netherlands) has a career-high seven wins in his final spring at UTC. He is 7-7 overall and 2-1 in the No. 6 slot.

Sophomores Chris Smith (Johnson City, Tenn.) is 7-10 on the year while classmate William Disterdick (Hixson, Tenn.) is 6-10.

The Mocs are guided by head coach Carlos Garcia who is in his 10th season at UTC.  He scored his 100th career victory as the men's coach at UTC earlier in the year.  He is currently 102-119 in his tenure with the Mocs.

The Bulldogs bring a 1-11 overall record, 0-3 in SoCon action.  Their lone win was a 6-1 victory over Case Western on March 7.  David Orces leads the team with a 10-5 record.  He is 9-4 at No. 1 this spring.

Elon is 7-5 overall and 1-0 in SoCon action.  The Phoenix defeated Davidson 4-3 in its league opener on March 12.  Cameron Silverman leads the team with a 6-6 mark in the spring.  He has played in each of the top four spots for Elon this season.
