The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was moved back to Sunday due to inclement weather in the area.
The Mocs are 7-14 overall and trying to snap a seven-match losing streak. Chattanooga and Georgia Southern are tied for eighth in the league standings with a 2-7 SoCon mark. GSU is 10-11 overall.
A win would give the Mocs the No. 8 seed in next week's SoCon Tournament, hosted by Chattanooga at the Champions Club. UTC would face No. 9 Davidson in the first round. A loss drops the Mocs to the No. 9 spot and would force a rematch with Georgia Southern in Wednesday's first round.
Despite the recent skid, Chattanooga's seven victories still equal its win total from the last two seasons combined (2-16 in 2009 and 5-15 in 2010). It is also the most wins in a season since going 12-10 in 2008.
Sophomore Jackson Tresnan (Apopka, Fla.) leads the team with a 13-13 mark in singles play. He was 8-1 at No. 4 but, is 3-8 since moving up to No. 2 and No. 3. Eleven of his 13 wins have come during the spring dual season.
Sophomore Roberto Vieira (Bedfordview, South Africa) sat out last weekend with a foot injury. He has won seven of his last 10 to improve his record to 12-10, including an 8-6 mark at No. 1.
The Mocs are guided by head coach Carlos Garcia who is in his 10th season at UTC. He scored his 100th career victory as the men's coach at UTC earlier in the year. He is currently 103-126 in his tenure with the Mocs.
Juan Melian Puigventos leads Georgia Southern with a 19-1 overall record. He has won 13-straight and is 8-0 in SoCon singles action.
