UTC is currently 13-8 overall, its most wins since the 2007 season. Chattanooga posted a 4-6 mark in SoCon play, also the most league wins since going 5-4 in 2007.
Davidson finished the year with a 7-13 overall record and went 3-7 in SoCon matches. The Wildcats defeated the Mocs 4-3 on April 1 in Chattanooga.
Junior Manuel Barroetavena (Buenos Aires, Argentina) continues to lead UTC with a 20-7 overall record. The reigning SoCon Player of the Month went 9-1 in SoCon matches and has won 13 of his last 14 singles contests.
Junior Roberto Vieira (Bedfordview, South Africa) is a three-time All-SoCon performer who is getting back on track after battling a nagging foot injury over the last month. He is currently 14-11 overall and 10-7 in the spring at No. 1. He earned second team All-SoCon honors for his play this season
Junior Jackson Tresnan (Apopka, Fla.) has a 13-8 singles record, all in spring action. He had a nine-match winning streak earlier in the year that won him SoCon Player of the Month honors for February. He is 9-5 at the No. 5 position.
Freshman Pavels Grigorjevs (Riga, Latvia) is 6-4 in his last 10 matches and had a 5-4 record against conference opponents. He is 7-5 at No. 6. He did not play in the regular season match against Davidson.
The doubles lineup changes from week to week, depending on the matchups. Junior Sam Parfitt (Norwich, England) and junior Stephen Crofford (Franklin, Tenn.) have both seen action in the doubles lineup during the spring.
The Mocs are looking for a few spots in the lineup to break out of recent slumps. UTC has lost six-straight at No. 6 and three in a row and No. 5 and No. 3. Chattanooga has also lost two straight doubles points in its recent three-match slide.
