BURLINGTON, N.C. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team will remain in North Carolina for a Monday night matchup with the Elon Phoenix at Alumni Gym. The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m.

The Lady Mocs are 10-2 overall and 3-0 in Southern Conference action while the Phoenix moved to 5-7 on the year and with a Saturday afternoon win over Samford, improved to 2-1 in league play.

The Lady Mocs returned to Southern Conference play last Saturday with a 76-46 win over UNCG on the Spartans home court to move to 10-2 overall and 3-0 in league play. It was Chattanooga's seventh game topping the 70-point mark this season and the second-lowest scoring output by an opponent.

Chattanooga is averaging 71.4 points per game, second in the SoCon and has the league's top scoring margin, outscoring opponents by 15.7 per game. The Lady Mocs are shooting 41.9 percent from the field, second best in the league, and fifth-best in the SoCon from the 3-point arc making 30.6 percent of their attempts. Chattanooga is tied with Samford at the top of the league standings for 3-pointers made per game at 7.1.

On the boards, the Lady Mocs are second in the SoCon for rebounds with 41.6 per game and are first in rebounding margin snaring 3.1 more per game that their opponents. Chattanooga averages 15 rebounds on the offensive end (5th) and 26.2 on the defensive end (2nd).

Chattanooga is second in the league for assists with 15.5 per game and dished out a season-high 20 against the Spartans on Saturday. UTC is third with 10.6 steals per game, second with a turnover margin of +5.20 and leads the conference in assist-turnover ratio with 15.5 assists to 15.0 turnovers (1.0) per game.

Junior Ashlen Dewart (Spartanburg, S.C.) has made the most of her starting opportunities. She leads the league in field goal percentage, making 53.3 percent of her shots and is third in scoring with 15.9 points per game. Senior Kayla Christopher (Oliver Springs, Tenn.) is 12th in the SoCon in scoring and led UTC with 19 points in Saturday's win and ranks third in field goal percentage (.469), 3-point field goal percentage (.409) and 3-pointers made (27-2.3/game). Junior Taylor Hall (New Tazewell, Tenn.) ranks 18th in the league for scoring with 9.3 points per game.

On the boards, Dewart has a team-high 6.6 followed by senior Kylie Lambert (Etowah, Tenn.) with 6.2. Hall is third with 6.1 boards per game. Lambert is 10th in the league on the offensive boards with 2.5 per game while Dewart ranks ninth on the defensive end with 4.4 per game and Hall is 10th with 4.0 per game.

Elon grabbed a 65-41 win over reigning Southern Conference Tournament Champion Samford on Saturday to improve to 2-1 in league play and 5-7 on the year. After opening SoCon play with a loss to College of Charleston (57-55) on December 1st at home, the Phoenix rebounded with a win over Western Carolina (64-48) on the road.

Elon is ranked third in the SoCon in scoring with 65.2 points per game, topping the 70-point mark just three times. They are ranked ninth in scoring defense, allowing 64.8 points per game, but third in scoring margin with a narrow 0.3 scoring advantage over their opponents. From the floor, the Phoenix are third with a 41.6 shooting percentage and make 32.3 percent of their attempts from the 3-point line, fourth best in the SoCon. Elon averages 5.1 made 3-pointers per game.

On the boards, the Elon is third in the league averaging 39.2 rebounds per game and is fourth in rebounding margin getting outmanned on the boards by -0.6 per game. However, the Phoenix lead the league on the blocked shots chart with 4.9 per game. Elon is sixth in steals with 10.2 per game and fifth on the assists chart with 13.3 per game.

Senior Ali Ford leads the Phoenix in scoring with 16 points per game, second best in the conference and is ninth in field goal percentage making 42.8 percent of her shots. Ford is second from the 3-point line in the SoCon with 2.8 per game and fourth in accuracy, making 38.8 percent of her attempts. She is fourth in assists for Elon with 4.3 per game and fourth in the league from the free throw line making 29-of-32 (90.6%).

Kelsey Evans is 10th in the SoCon in scoring with 14.2 points per game and Kelsey Harris is 20th with 9.3 points per game. Zora Stephenson is ranked 29th in the SoCon with 7.4 points per game. Evans has a team high 9.2 rebounds per game and Harris is 12th in the league with 5.8 per game and Sam Cofer, with 4.5 rebounds per game, is ranked 22nd in the SoCon standings.

Harris is fourth for shooting accuracy making nearly 47 percent of her attempts followed by Evans who shoots 46.8 percent. Shon Redmond is third in the league for steals with 2.9 per game while Evans is second in the SoCon standings with 2.1 blocked shots per game.

This will be the 20th game between the two teams since Elon joined the Southern Conference in 2003-04 season. Chattanooga is 17-2 against the Phoenix after starting the series with 13 straight wins. UTC is 4-2 over the last six games including a current three-game win streak. In the last meeting, the Lady Mocs posted an 80-65 home court win. The last time the two teams met on the road, UTC won 59-46. Elon's first win against Chattanooga was a 74-66 win at Alumni Gym in 2009. They followed it the next season with a 74-61 win at the Roundhouse.

Chattanooga returns home for a two-game stretch next weekend. On Saturday, the Lady Mocs will host Georgia Southern in a 6 p.m. matchup at the Roundhouse. The game will air live on Hippie Radio 106.9 FM as the men's road game will tip at 4 p.m. The Lady Mocs are 31-18 against the Eagles who are being coached by first-year head coach Chris Vozab.
