Tennis Teams Host UT Martin Saturday at Hixson Racquet Club

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga men’s and women’s tennis teams will host instate rival UT Martin Saturday, Feb. 14. Both matches will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Hixson Racquet Club.

 

The Lady Mocs (2-4) will be led by freshman Shaina Singh who was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week last week. Singh started the season with a 4-2 mark at the No. 1 singles spot and she, along with her doubles partner Emily Hangstefer, are 3-3 this season.

 

The men’s team is still searching for a win this season with an overall mark of 0-4. Senior Pavel Vostrikov, at No. 2 singles, is 2-2 on the year. In doubles, Vostrikov, with partner freshman Sam Parfitt, is 1-1 at the top spot while Peter Sauska and Dakota Pate recorded a win at the No. 2 spot and Gordon Rudell and Rick van de Bovenkamp are 1-1 at the third doubles position.

 

Admission is free at the Hixson Racquet Club.
