Women's Tennis Ends Regular Season with Loss at Georgia Southern
STATESBORO, Ga. --- Georgia Southern claimed the doubles point and four of six singles matches Saturday morning to defeat the women's tennis team, 5-2 in a Southern Conference match.

The loss snapped a four-match win streak for the Lady Mocs.

The Eagles won the second and third doubles matches to earn an early 1-0 lead. From there, GSU collected singles victories at positions No. 2, 4, 5 and 6 for the 5-2 SoCon win.

Emma Knight’s 6-2, 6-1 win over UTC’s Samantha Duggan at No. 6 proved to be the clinching match for the Eagles. Kristi Kegerreis defeated Lindsey Ballard at No. 2, 6-4, 6-1, Jessica Fuler beat Bonnie Adams, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 and Shea Huxtable defeated Kate Ksiezopolski at No. 5, 6-0, 6-0.

UTC’s lone team points came from singles wins by Anastasia Zhukova and Beata Knizat. Zhukova, ranked 39th nationally, blitzed Molly Maddox at No. 1, 6-0, 6-1. Knizat defeated Heather Reynolds at No. 3 in the closest match of the day, 7-6, 2-6, 10-6.

UTC heads to Charleston, S.C., later this coming week to compete in the SoCon Championships.
