The women’s tennis team will look for its first Southern Conference victory of the season Saturday as it hosts Appalachian State.

The match, which begins at 1 p.m., has been moved from the Champion’s Club outdoor venue indoors to the Manker-Patten Tennis Club because of anticipated cold weather.

The Lady Mocs have lost three straight, two in SoCon play.  Chattanooga opened the SoCon season Feb. 23 at Davidson with a 7-0 loss and has since dropped a 7-0 loss to Elon at home on March 1.

Appalachian State is 4-4 on the year and 0-1 in the league, a 7-0 SoCon loss at Wofford.  The Mountaineers’ wins have come against North Carolina Central, Winston-Salem State, Lees-McRae and Presbyterian.

ASU took two duals from the Lady Mocs last season, 4-3 in Boone, N.C., on April 7, and 4-3 in the first round of the SoCon Tournament April 19.

Chattanooga Head Coach Jeff Clark is expected to use the same lineup he put on the court last week against Elon, with senior Lindsey Ballard leading the way at the No. 1 position.

Likely to round out the lineup are junior Beata Knizat at No. 2, senior Bonnie Adams at No. 3, and freshmen Grace Robinette, Annie Green and Arianna Sanjines at the fourth, fifth and sixth spots.

Admission is free at all Chattanooga tennis matches.
